Not so this year as the Northwest Suburban Real Estate Market has really started heating up, with the number of under contract properties surging up to 20% or more since the beginning of 2016. In the last 45 days, the Long Grove housing market has seen a major change. Long Grove homes that are competitively priced are selling within days( or even hours) the home goes on the market with multiple offers. Why is the Real Estate Market changing in Long Grove?
2. Interest rates are still at historical low levels.
and the most important reason…
3. Lots of buyers are out looking for homes right now and cannot find their dream home. (including many of my clients). I have two Long Grove clients who just purchased homes within hours that the home went on the market and have two more hoping that they can find something really soon. [Read more…]
Long Grove Preschool Option -Board of Jewish Education
Parents looking for a Jewish-based preschool program may want to take a look at the Board of Jewish Education preschool program located at Congregation Beth Judea, at the corner of Hilltop and Route 83 in Long Grove. The Board of Jewish Education sponsors the preschool offerings which are held in a bright, cheery section of the synagogue. A full playground is located next to the BJE classrooms in a wooded setting.
Children as young as 15 months can attend the Mom & Tot program which meets once a week. Youngsters and their caregivers participate in a variety of age-appropriate activities. This Long Grove preschool program aims to get the youngsters comfortable in a social setting with peers and experiment with music, art, and limited structured class time in the form of “circle time.”
As children get older, the BJE program grows with them. Two year olds have class twice per week and parents & the children work towards separation from their caregivers as the school year progresses. Three and four year olds meet three times per week. Pre-kindergarteners attend school Monday through Friday, just as they will when they begin their elementary school years. Enrichment programs are also offered for students, extending the school day.
Program Director Janet Sear told me that, “The program is Judaically inspired and prepares the children for success as lifelong learners.” There is a ratio of seven students per teacher, providing plenty of guidance and attention from the teaching staff. The Emilia Reggio-modeled program has a very strong early literacy and pre-math curriculum. Enrollment for the current school is approximately 100 students.
Erin of Arlington Heights said, “Both of my children have had great experiences at BJE. The teachers do a fantastic job of creating a welcoming, comfortable atmosphere for the kids to learn and they communicate well with the parents. Academically they prepare the kids well for kindergarten in a unique and fun environment. My son is thriving in kindergarten this year, and I appreciate all that BJE did to prepare him for his elementary school years.”
The BJE program at Beth Judea in Long Grove is just one of many preschool programs available to families moving to the greater Long Grove/Buffalo Grove area. As your Long Grove realtor, I recognize that you are looking for more than a home, you are looking for a community and all it has to offer your family. Please call me at 847-602-5435 or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org so that we can discuss your home buying wishes. Long Grove Sunday Concerts are Fantastic Free and Fun. I was driving through the town of Long Grove last Sunday at approximately 5:00 and heard some music. At first I felt as if I was in Mexico, but no, it was actually the Sones D Mexico performing at the Sunset Pavilion located in Downtown Long Grove. Long Grove Concerts are arranged by the Long Grove Arts and Music Council and sponsored by Sunset Foods.
For those of you who missed the first two concerts of the season I highly recommend checking out the 6 remaining Long Grove Fantastic, Fun, Free concerts. [Read more…]
Last week in Long Grove and Buffalo Grove, a severe storm prompted many communities to lose power and many trees were ripped apart. That’s the bad news. Now the Good news…. Lake County’s oldest Tree located in Long Grove Illinois thankfully is still standing.
I myself personally live in Long Grove and I lost power in my house for 3 long days. Loss of electricty means no computers, yes my ipad worked until I ran out of juice ,my cell phones were charged in our cars, toilets were not working, no water for my plants,no place to bathe, brush teeth, and a refriderator and freezer with spoiled food. My family did a lot of showering at Lifetime Fitness located in Vernon Hills. The loss of toilets and water(Long Grove is mostly well water) was not fun, but I know that the storm created bigger head aches for some, so I will not complain!
Trees fell in many neighborhoods, leaving a big mess for many local tree Companies to clean up! Even the largest trees snapped.. I never saw anything like the effects of this kind of storm. It was pretty shocking how huge trees were literally ripped out of the ground. [Read more…]
The annual Long Grove Chocolate Festival just concluded. To me the Long Grove Chocolate Festival signifies two things: Summer has finally arrived and chocolate lovers can reconvine.
If you missed the Long Grove Chocolate Festival this year, I definitely encourage you put it on a must see for next year. I enjoyed walking up and down the traffic-controlled streets of downtown Long Grove to view mouth-watering selections of chocolate covered fruits, desserts and free samples! There is nothing better than celebrating the warm weather than by spending time outdoors, listening to live music, and window shopping. After purchasing a chocolate treat at the Long Grove Chocolate Festival, sit and relax by the spring gardens and running fountains. [Read more…]
