Buffalo Grove Singing Group Encore Wins National Competition!
I am pleased to announce the incredible nationwide win of Buffalo Grove’s very own traveling musical ensemble Encore! This group is an offshoot of the BG Singers, a choral group run through the Buffalo Grove Park District.
They entered a competition sponsored by DDR Corporation and Deer Park Town Center in Deer Park, Illinois back in the summer. Through several rounds of online voting, finally, the fans have spoken. Encore wins and with that a $20,000 donation to their chosen charity.
It gives me even greater joy to announce that Encore chose the Lauri S. Bauer Foundation for Sudden Loss as their beneficiary of the $20,000. As many of you know, this foundation is near and dear to my heart as Lauri was a close friend and her loss deeply affected me. As someone close to the foundation, I know personally how much this money will directly impact those who have suffered a painful, sudden loss.
The community, friends and family of the Bauers, the BG Singers, Encore and so many others made this online voting process go completely viral. It was amazing!! Linda Rosen who directs Encore says, “While I am the lucky one that conducts these amazing men and women, the community is lucky to have citizens that respond to a request for help. I am so proud to live and teach in the Buffalo Grove/Long Grove area and be able to have the opportunity to work with people who care passionately about making our home a better place to live.”
